Happy Wireless Wednesday! Today we’re talking about Sprint and their new Spark Network. What is the Spark Network you ask? Well according directly to the folks at Sprint, Sprint Spark is a super-high-speed capability offering 50-60 Megabits per second (Mbps) peak speeds today with increasing speed potential over time.

With the recent roll out of Sprint’s new Spark network some of our customers have questioned us about compatibility with our new line of 4G boosters. Our 4G boosters cover voice, 3G, and 4G LTE for all the major carriers. So, let’s take a closer look at Sprint Spark and find out what’s going on.
Sprint Spark is considered 4G LTE, but like mentioned above, it should reach speeds of up to 50-60 Megabits per second. This network will implement a combination of these bands: 800 MHz (the old iDEN frequencies), 1900 MHz, 2500 MHz (the old Wi-Max frequencies).
Our new 4G line of products will cover 700, 850, 1900, 1700/2100 MHz. This means that our new boosters will cover the 1900 MHz, but not the lower end of the 800 MHz band, and no coverage for the 2500 MHz. Although our new 4G boosters will not cover the Sprint Spark network, they will still support the voice and 3G for Sprint’s network.
Sprint Spark has already rolled out in the following cities:
- Austin, Texas
- Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
- Fort Worth, Texas
- Los Angeles
- New York
- San Antonio, Texas
- Tampa, Fla.
They plan to cover 100 of the largest cities in the U.S. within the next three years.
