How It Works

Signal boosters increase cell signal by collecting signals with a powerful antenna, delivering those signals to the booster, amplifying the cell signals so your devices receive them, and delivering your device's boosted signals back to the cell tower.

Receives Signal
1

Receives
Signal

The outside antenna reaches out to the cell tower to access voice and data signals.

Transmits Signal
2

Transmits
Signal

The booster receives the outside signal from the outside antenna.

Boosts Signal
3

Boosts
Signal

The booster amplifies the outside signal and sends it to the inside antenna.

Works great!

This thing is amazing. I have an irregular work schedule where I am frequently on call and free to do whatever. I live and work in a small city surrounded by National Forest and rural farm country, so cell service is spotty and thus risky business when I am on call. This thing really expands my range I am able to go and still be reachable. It's important to note that this thing will not create a signal where there is not one, but it will take a marginal one and make it very strong.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Well designed, simple to install, works as advertised

Purchased this with the OTR-RV antenna kit for our Travato. Review tests indicated that even though this antenna is not optimal for the Reach, it's better than the mini-mag antenna included for car use, which would not have worked because the cable is too short for RV use. The OTR-RV antenna is an excellent match to Promaster/Sprinter conversion vans. No oscillations detected anywhere within van. The central location of the amp module and the 8' interior antenna cable length allows effective positioning most anywhere in the van...and you do need to be within about 2' for positive effect. About a bar to 2 bars enhancement in deep fringe areas. Turned several of our favorite campsites into useable reception zones. Major gripe is the 12V power adaptor. It fits extremely loosely in standard cigarette lighter sockets and makes intermittent electrical contact unless physically held down to one side. The trouble appears to be spring contacts on the adaptor sides are not springy enough and don't protrude far enough to guarantee robust contact. The adaptor also powers up when coach 12V is powered up, so it can be on and you won't know it. Need a more positive power switching that only comes on when you physically push the switch.

Works as expected

Works as expected. I leave it off until I get somewhere with poor coverage, switch it on, and my phone shows full bars. Phone calls and internet access quality improves accordingly. "Range extender" seems like a poor description, but certainly "signal booster". My hatchback is fairly short by car standards, and trying to run the cable the recommended way get me 1m (3ft) short of the passenger seat. Had to cable it through the door in a not-elegant way. The power and internal antennae cables are probably longer than they need to be, by comparison.

Great equipment and easy to install. Signal has improved!

My job requires me to be in locations where cell service is very weak, if not non existent. Since I have installed this signal booster, I now have service. Love it!

Easy and True

I go off road a lot and routinely lose signal. Total loss. I registered on Verizon, all the info on the back of the unit. Took 3 minutes and done. Plugged it in per instructions. 2 min. Signal before use about 98 dB. Turned on and it goes to 54 dB. Works great. Proximity to the internal antenna is important. About 12 inches away, I lose about 10 dB. It's great. Thanks Weboost.

it really works... not a miracle for dead zones but it works

i drive 90miles / day. gets me over the weak zones wo/ dropping calls. in the mountains, i have much better service. now i can avoid the drive to the top of a ridge to make a call and stay at camp ( not that cells and camping are good, but it has a power switch)

Works perfectly to boost connection to the AT&T Cloud.

Bought this product to assist with connecting new vehicles at a dealership with the applications on the customers smart phones. Boost sign al perfectly for a seamless connection. Helps us save them 30 to 40 minutes now. Great device. I recommend it. Other options ran in the 5-30 thousand dollar range.

Question: Hi- I have currently have this setup (470154) with your 4G OTR Antenna (304415) on my truck. Now, I plan on getting a CB radio and HAM radio added to my truck. Will the CB & Ham setup and the antennas cause any signal interference/ problems? I'm new to this communication systems and I don't want to mess anything up with your WEBOOST setup I have got going. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks- Christian

Answer: Thank you for your question! We recommend keeping the antennas separated at least 12 inches apart from each other to prevent any feedback. The booster will show a red light at the beginning of start up if the boosters antennas are interfering with each other or if the external antenna is interfering with any other antenna. If you ever run into any problems, please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer support team at 866-294-1660 or email our online support at [email protected] so that we can properly assist you. Thank you!

Question: I have a Ford Superduty with the large MoonRoof. In the directions it says to have the external antenna 12" from any glass. I do not believe that there is a 2ft square area to mount the antenna. Is there a way to make the weboost work?

Answer: Mounting the antenna near your MoonRoof may make it easier for the antennas to interfere with each other. I recommend placing the external antenna on the far back passengers side of the roof and placing the internal antenna closer to the drivers side inside. This will help give the antennas a bit more of separation. We then recommend testing the boosters signal in different locations. We do not recommend relying on bars, but relying on performance. See if you are able to make and maintain a call in areas you haven't been able to before. If you ever run into any problems, please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer support team at 866-294-1660 or email our online support at [email protected] where they would be happy to help! Question: If I buy the drive reach kit that comes with the small external antenna and then buy the OTR antenna, could I use the OTR antenna on my travel trailer and the small antenna from kit on my vehicle. That way when driving I could use the reach for car (using small antenna) and then when camped I could use the OTR antenna for the trailer by unplugging small antenna from reach and plugging in the OTR. Reach booster would be mounted in the trailer.

Answer: Yes! In order to use the OTR antenna with the Drive Reach, you will need an SMA Male to SMB adapter. This can be found as part number 970030: https://www.weboost.com/products/connector-sma-male-to-smb-adapter-970030.

Question: Hello The installer put the inside antenna ~60" on my Drive Reach from where my cell phone will normally be. I did not notice until The next day. Will this distance work 'ok'? Please advise. Thank you

Answer: We recommend placing the internal antenna at least 18 inches but no more than 36 inches from where you will be using your cellular device. Placing the internal antenna farther away than recommended will make it harder for your phone to receive a boosted signal and can result in a lesser gain. If you have any other questions that need to be addressed, please feel free to reach back to us at 866-294-1660 or email our online support at [email protected] Thank you and have a great day!

Question: Is it possible to use, say a splitter and attach two antennas, either to the outside of the vehicle to increase the captured signal or for the inside to increase the coverage?

Answer: Thank you for your question! Our vehicle boosters are not designed to support more than one internal antenna. When adding a second internal antenna, the signal is being split between the two. This degrades the overall signal and coverage range. The vehicle boosters are just not strong enough to support more than one internal or external antenna. When using two external antennas and a splitter, most of the time the signals will be out of phase causing interference which will result in a much worse signal that before. We highly suggest only using the antennas recommended for proper performance. If you have any other questions that need to be addressed, please feel free to reach back to us at 866-294-1660 or email our online support at [email protected] Thank you and have a great day!

Question: Can the hardwire power supply for the 470254 be used with the 470154? These appear to be the same units with the exception of power supply and antenna. Spec sheet says 5V/4.5A. I already own the 470154 but want to hardwire it as I have a newer vehicle with no 12 volt cigarette lighter type plugs. I'm currently having to utilize a 110v to 12v adapter from my built in inverter. While this works it ties up the only plug I have in the rear area of the truck. Any insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Answer: Yes, the hardwire power supply included with the fleet kit will work with the Drive Reach. I recommend reaching out to our support team at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected] so that they can help you find the correct power supply. Thank you!

Question: Is the 75 0hm directional antenna compatible with the Drive Reach amp? I understand that adapters would be required.

Answer: Thank you for your question! Our engineers have not yet approved the use of the directional antenna with the Drive Reach. If you are trying to improve the incoming signal, we recommend using the OTR antenna with the SMA Male to SMB Adapter. You can find the items below. 4G OTR Antenna | 304415: https://www.weboost.com/products/304415 SMA Male to SMB Adapter | 970030: https://www.weboost.com/products/connector-sma-male-to-smb-adapter-970030 If you have any other questions that need to be addressed, please feel free to reach back out to us at 866-294-1660 or email us at [email protected] Thank you and have a great day!

Question: I do a lot of off road riding in my Jeep. What's the estimated range of this booster if I'm deep off the grid? Would I still receive signal. I'm hoping for emergency reasons for your product.

Answer: The coverage range will depend on what's available where you're located. I'm assuming you're going to be in very low to no signal areas because you'll be needing an amplifier. The only thing to identify is if you're able to receive some signal in those locations, if so, then our amplifier should be able to help. If you have any issues or if there are any other questions or find concerns, please let us know!
