How It Works

Signal boosters increase cell signal by collecting signals with a powerful antenna, delivering those signals to the booster, amplifying the cell signals so your devices receive them, and delivering your device's boosted signals back to the cell tower.

Receives Signal
1

Receives
Signal

The booster reaches out to the cell tower to access voice, text and data signals while parked or in-motion.

Boosts Signal
2

Boosts
Signal

The booster receives the outside signal, amplifies it up to 32x and sends it to the inside antenna.

Works pretty good, when it works.

I installed this on a 2005 KW T800, the outside antenna is on the far back center of the sleeper, the inside antenna is on the dash, as far apart as possible, and the unit stops working and the red light comes on very often. Customer service has not been a lot of help, just saying separate the antennas more, which isn't possible. The description also made it sound like it would boost signal for the whole interior of the vehicle, but you have to be very close to the antenna for it to work. When it does work, it works pretty well, I do have service in places that no others do. I planned on putting these in our whole fleet (5 semi trucks and 2 pickup trucks), but I will not be spending the money on anymore.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Question: Does any of your 4G LTE boosters work with the planned implementation of 5G networks? If the current boosters are not 5G capable, do you plan to offer one that will work with future/existing 5G networks? Thank you.

Answer: Thank you for your question! Our current boosters will only work with the 3G and 4G LTE network. In order to introduce a true 5G system, we have to get the proper approval by the FCC. We are currently working on this in parallel with producing a 5G product. There currently is not set time frame on when these systems will be available, but once the FCC approves a true 5G booster for use in the consumer market, we will be among the first to offer it. If you have any other questions that need to be addressed, please feel free to reach back out to us at 866-294-1660 or email us at [email protected] Thank you and have a great day!

Answer: Thank you for your question! We currently do not offer a 5G system. In order to introduce a true 5G booster to the market, two main objectives must be completed. First and foremost, regulatory approval. FCC approval is needed before our boosters can operate on the new bands specified for 5G service. Fortunately, Wilson Electronics had anticipated this need back in 2016 and has led the industry by petitioning the FCC for new frequency bands. In addition to regulatory approvals, product needs to be developed. We are currently working on these products in parallel with the completing the regulatory process. Once the FCC approves a true 5G booster for use in the consumer market, we will be among the first to offer it. If you have any other questions that need to be addressed, please feel free to reach back out to us at 866-294-1660 or email us at [email protected] Thank you and have a great day!

Question: will this work on uk networks

Answer: Hey there! Sorry, our cellular amplifiers use frequencies that will not be able to work in the UK due to cellular frequency band compatibility. Wilson Electronic's amplifiers are only currently used in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Malaysia. Other countries may support our amplifiers but cannot be shipped to these locations. We can only ship to the US, Canada, and Mexico currently. If you have any issues or if there are any other questions or concerns, please let us know! Our contact info for our US-based phone support is at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected]

Question: Does the drive reach fleet offer a significant advantage over the drive reach? It would I be better off running the drive reach with an otr antenna?

Answer: Thank you for your question! The fleet doesn't give a significant advantage over the other they are very similar in performance. The Fleet is more for a professional/permanent install rather than the magnet antenna. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with by calling our customer support at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected] Thank you!

Question: Can you tell me the difference in quality in this product 470254 vs the - 470154 - https://www.weboost.com/products/drive-reach and - 470210 - https://www.weboost.com/products/drive4g-x-otr They are both slightly less than this and I don't see specifications differences. Can you tell me if the 470210 will receive better reception because it has a larger antenna? I am going to mount mine on a smaller RV, called a Vixen... which is most like a Van. https://www.greenavalanche.org/vixen-21td Thank you!

Answer: Thank you for your question! The main differences is the uplink power between the Drive 4G-X and the Drive Reach. The Reach has more uplink power meaning that you can be further away from the tower and still receive service. The Drive 4G-X differences between the two are only the antennas which is pretty marginal. The OTR is a little more rugged and serves well for both RV, big rigs, as well as overlanding. The RV is really only equipped for RV, and sprinter vans or other campers. However, it really depends on how you want to mount it. The Reach is really a great product and would most likely recommend that unit over the others for it's upgraded design and connections and especially it's uplink power. Question: Good Day Would this system work in South Africa with our local service providers or is it only designed to work in the US

Answer: Thank you for your question! This will only work in the US since it's designed for use with their bands in mind. We are always looking to expand our band usage though! Question: Why would I buy the Drive Reach Fleet | 470254 vs the Drive 4G-X Fleet | 470221 at a more expensive cost with no clear advantage in function/operation?

Answer: Thank you for your question! The Reach has more uplink power in the amplifier. This means that you're able to be further away from the tower and still receive coverage. dB gain isn't the factor since they both are the same gain but one offers a better design for heat displacement, uplink power, SMB connectors and quality of life improvements. It's definitely the best bang for your buck. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with by calling our customer support at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected] Thank you!

Question: Is there a way to install the antenna without drilling holes in roof of RV? Magnetic attachment? Bracketed to my ladder in back and cable routed through the door seam? My current 4GX has magnetic antenna with cable routed along driver's side door seam. I'd like to upgrade and perhaps do the same with the Reach unit.

Answer: Thank you for your question! The reach should be the same setup as your Drive 4G-X only with SMB connections so you can run them the same way. Hope this helps!
