How It Works

Signal boosters increase cell signal by collecting signals with a powerful antenna, delivering those signals to the booster, amplifying the cell signals so your devices receive them, and delivering your device's boosted signals back to the cell tower.

1

Receives
Signal

The booster reaches out to the cell tower to access voice and data signals.

2

Boosts
Signal

The booster receives the outside signal, amplifies it up to and sends it to the inside antenna.

3

Expands
Signal

The inside antenna broadcasts the boosted signal to devices inside the vehicle.

Can you hear me now?

I purchased the OTR kit and it comes with everything you need. The antenna was overly tall so I removed the shaft extension for a lower profile mount. I have had it installed in my '95 Kenworth W900 for several months and it has performed well. In weak service areas it keeps the calls connected. There are still some remote areas in the country where I drop or can't call out.

Warning to sprint users

This product is easy to install and appears well built . BUT Sprint uses frequencies that are too close to emergency frequencies and the LTE cannot be boosted . It does somewhat boost the talk and text on sprint . It boosted my Verizon tablet pretty good . Just be warned . I needed internet boosted in my semi , and for sprint users , it won't do that .

It works!

Seriously. I bought one of these to be able to work on the road from my camper. Web meetings where I need to host and present is part of my job. This baby takes little to no service and give you the "boost". In dead spots once I turned it on- "ding, ding, ding" messages start coming through. Where I would have two bars the weboost jumped me to full bars. Get one.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

It's a joke.

The signal does not amplify. Nothing strengthens. My second driver, on the second truck, also bought himself the same. Now he and I, sorry for the lost money. Just lost almost $1000 for two, for this beautiful deception. Who then asked, no one does not work. They do not accept it back. Ask before buying, not from sellers, but from those who have already tried it.

Don't be Stranded W/O one.

I work in the oil patch, which can take me to some pretty remote places. The weboost helps improve my Cellular and Data signal quite alot. I was Amaized. I am considering purchasing these units for all of my personal vehicles. Think of it, No more dropped calls, Data interruption while trying to send reports in from the field, or Emergency situations, which always seem to take place in the worst cell phone receptive areas.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Question: does this unit actually work for sprint users

Answer: Thank you for your question! This booster does not support Sprint's Spark Network. The frequencies which Sprint uses are outside of the traditional cellular range, and we are not yet permitted by the FCC to boost these frequencies at this time. However, we do support Sprint's 3G signal. Quite a few Sprint users have successfully boosted their signal. We offer a 30 day-money back guarantee so that our customers can set their system up and test it out to confirm if whether or not it will work in their area. If you have any other questions that need to be addressed, please feel free to reach back out to us at 866-294-1660 or email us at [email protected] Thank you and have a great day!

Question: Instead of using the inside antenna, can I connect the booster straight to the Verizon Wireless Jetpack Mifi with a cable?

Answer: Thank you for your question! We do not recommend connecting your Jetpack directly into the booster. Connecting the Jetpack directly to the booster can end up damaging your Jetpack device. It would be best to place your Jetpack next to the internal antenna and testing the signal by placing the Jetpack every couple of feet away from the internal antenna to determine in which location you receive the best signal. The only system that may connect directly to another device is the Pro Signal 4G which can be found here: https://www.wilsonpro.com/products/signal4g-m2m-booster. If you have any other questions that need to be addressed, please feel free to reach back out to us at 866-294-1660 or email us at [email protected] Thank you and have a great day!

Question: Looking at a X-OTR for a truck camper. Can two interior antennas be added to a single booster? one antenna would be in the cab of the truck and the second would be in the bed mounted camper.

Answer: It's not likely. We don't recommend splitting inside antennas for the reason that splitting will cut your signal in half from each antenna. With that, a splitter will give 3 dB loss as well as the added cable to the other antenna. Finally, you'll end up with less than half coverage than what you started with and may not receive any coverage at all. Sorry about that! If you have any issues or if there are any other questions or find concerns, please let us know! Question: We want to use the 4G-X OTR booster in a remote location and power it with a battery that will be charged using a solar panel. Will a 12V - 7 AMH trail camera battery power the weBoost 4G-X OTR unit?? If not what size/type battery do you recommend??

Answer: It should be able to as long as you're using a DC option and doesn't fully use the 12V/7A. That's too much power since our amplifiers are only rated for 6V. It does have an inline adapter to it steps down from 12V to 6V. We can only recommend that this unit only be used inside a vehicle and use the proper 12V power plug for this amplifeir. If you have any issues or if there's any other questions or concerns, please let us know! Question: Instead of using the inside antenna that comes with this weBoost truck package, can I cable the 4G - X OTR internal connection directly into a cellular trail camera and boost its cell signal reception??

Answer: It's not possible since the gain would be too powerful and most likely damage the trail camera over time and it will not work either. It's best to place the inside antenna near the trail camera for the best results if possible but these units are not weatherproof and must be in an inside location or they will be damaged easily. Asked by Tim 6 months ago

Question: How to install a password and name my specific equipment.

Answer: Thank you for your question! That isn't possible with our units because our units are passive and simply boost the outside signal inside your vehicle. Anyone can use the signal because it's amplified from the amplifier into the area where the inside antenna is mounted. Our amplifiers do not connect to the internet or to a server for it's service. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with by calling our customer support at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected] Thank you!

Question: How far apart do the interior and exterior antennas have to be to prevent oscillation? My old sleek is 3-4 ft from each other and can see each other through the sunroof and was wondering if the 4gx would be to powerful to have the interior/exterior antennas in the same position

Answer: Thank you for your question! As long as the lights are green and you're getting the gain increase that you want then it should be okay. If you're getting red lights then they do have to be separated. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with by calling our customer support at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected] Thank you

Question: On the antenna...I know it has extensions...does it matter how low or short the antenna is with the extensions...does it get the same gain whether it uses no extensions or all is what I'm asking

Answer: Thank you for your question! Same gain throughout, even with extensions since the coax cable is the same length with extensions or without. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with by calling our customer support at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected] Thank you!

Asked by Nick 9 months ago

Question: What does it mean when the 4G-X has a red light on instead of a green

Answer: Thank you for your question! Typically this means that the antennas are too close and need to be separated further for optimal performance. After separation the unit needs to be turned off and on again to receive it's new reading. If the lights are green and you see improvement, it's working, however of it's still red, more separation is required. If you have no more coax length and you're still getting red lights, there could be another issue and it would be best to contact customer support for further instructions. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with by calling our customer support at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected] Thank you!
