How It Works

Signal boosters increase cell signal by collecting signals with a powerful antenna, delivering those signals to the booster, amplifying the cell signals so your devices receive them, and delivering your device's boosted signals back to the cell tower.

Receives Signal
1

Receives
Signal

The booster reaches out to the cell tower to access voice and data signals.

Boosts Signal
2

Boosts
Signal

The booster receives the outside signal, amplifies it up to and sends it to the inside antenna.

Broadcasts Signal
3

Expands
Signal

The inside antenna broadcasts the boosted signal to devices inside the home.

Did what is advertised and did it well.

I'll start out stating that I was very skeptical about this purchase. I live 10 miles from the nearest tower. I get 1 bar of AT&T LTE (-114db) at 2 windows in my house. I set the device up in about 10 minutes. Powered it on and immediately had LTE signal throughout my room and the next room. I didn't get any signal in either before. As for the signal gain, at the antenna, I'm getting roughly -85 to -90db LTE signal in a room that didn't have any signal before. 3 feet away from the antenna the signal dropped to around -108db, 8 feet -113db, 14 feet -114db. This was all in the same room. Going out of the room(through two walls), I still had a LTE signal throughout my kitchen, and living room at -118 db. Going further into my house it drops LTE and i get spotty LTE but full 4g. I can freely walk around and talk on the phone or stream high definition video. Service outside of my house is worse than the service inside my house. The 4g is good enough to stream video on. Tested the signal on a Verizon phone and it was about the same as AT&T's signal. I am truly amazed at my signal now as it is my only internet and phone. Before, I would have to open a window and put my phone in the window and use it as a hotspot. I can talk on LTE and hotspot at the same time now. I used opensignal on the iphone which literally put an arrow pointing to the nearest tower. While my service isn't 5 bars, I wasn't expecting it. I also wasn't expecting the range I get off of it and the quality of the signal throughout the house. I honestly thought I would be returning it out of frustration. I installed the directional antenna #314411 with a 20' cable that benefited me in two ways. It increased my LTE signal in my house to pretty much -103db and it made it so i could place the eqo in a better place. It works so great I disconnected my satellite service including the home phone service and we use it primarily for internet and phone service.

Limited boost, yet effective

- Pros - This WeBoost eqo Cellphone Signal Booster is so, so easy to install. The company really made this simple, providing step-by-step instructions right on the plastic wrappers themselves for each part. And you can certainly see the quality of the product, as none of those parts seem flimsy or cheap. Versatility - this cellphone booster works with all providers and supports all makes of phones. The equipment itself is sleek and modern in appearance, and would fit right in with a variety of interior home decors. - Cons - The booster base unit and inside antenna, while being what I described above, are also quite large and may clutter up a home already heavily populated with electronics, such as mine - too many devices all needing to be positioned in the same relative space. The range inside the house isn't as good as I was hoping or expected from a device that cost as much as this unit goes for. My house is under 900 sq ft and the 'boost' I was seeing dropped off when I entered the back bedroom and kitchen. But your results my vary. There are too many variables - correct positioning of booster base, inside antenna and outside antenna; distance from cell towers, outdoor obstructions, weather, cell phone provider reliability, etc. Basically, this device can only do so much to improve the signal you're receiving 'in-house.' But if you've tried other options and can afford the price tag, this could be a viable solution; especially if you live out in the middle of nowhere, where your cell reception is just not cutting it. Overall, based on my own personal experience using the device, the cost of this particular unit outweighs its limited benefits.

AWESOME

We have a summer place in Northern Idaho; where even the locals have spotty service. I would have to walk up the mountain, my arm in the air until I had a couple of bars. I asked a local, "WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE DO UP HERE!" He said, "WE Booster". I immediately jumped on the internet, researched and purchased. BEST PURCHASE I EVER MADE! I now have FULL bars; talk and full internet. My service is better there now than at home. It's also portable, I can also use it on our boat with the original antenna when we go for our annual monthly trip or take it home. This is our setup: 24' X 36' completely metal shop - no windows. Antenna is 40' away from receiver. Anrenna is on a 20' pole. We upgrade to cone antenna. We are in a forest, surrounded by very tall, thick trees and mountains. We receive service in the building, next to unit but if you walk too far away from it service will drop.

I knew what I was getting into before purchasing it.

I had a terrible dead zone in my front room, but this has changed it to 3-4 bars of 4G at least. I can now stream shows and use my laptop on a tethered cell phone connection. Don't expect this to cover an entire house or anything further than that. I've tried multiple spots and angles, but it does exactly what I need from it. The only odd thing I found is that I can EASILY watch a movie on my phone, but I can't send images from time to time? It's the oddest thing.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Booster died after less than two years

I bought this booster for our cabin at the lake. It worked fairly well but last week it quit working. The light on the receiver doesn't light up at all. I checked the power supply with a voltmeter and the voltage is good. I had the unit plugged into a surge protected power supply the whole time I used it. It doesn't provide any boost in signal at all now. I always unplugged it when we weren't at the cabin so it didn't have a whole lot of hours of use. I would have expected it to last longer than that.

Great for boosting signal

I hooked this up and had to take some time positioning the boxes to get a maximum signal (went from 1 bar to 4). They worked great, until the coax cable broke on me. I would have given this 5 stars, but it is useless now until I go out a purchase a new cable.

Did now do as advertised

I had to return the product. After talking to your people, I was told that If I had a poor signal outside the house I would have the same inside the house. So the way I understand it this item is not a booster but rather a repeater. From the information on the box lead me to believe that it would boost the signal by 32 times.

Not worth the cost

There has been no difference in the signal. I do not recommend spending the money on this product it was delivered June 17 and I have had for 30 days. And now I can not even return it because they do not give you enough time to find out if it works. Everyone always says give it 30 days and you will see a difference. Well I can tell you that is not true and now I have spent money that has been waisteed

Very expensive device that did absolutely nothing for me.

After setting it up, I left it on for 24 hours and saw not one bit of improvement anywhere in the house.

Question: I want to boost my cell signal to be able to use a fax with more reliability. I am about 1.2 miles away from a tower and can see it line of site. It will fax sometimes and not others. The signal go from 2 to 4 bars on my cell phone. Do you have something that may help. I can make calls all day but not able to fax each time.

Answer: Thank you for your question! Typically fax machines use landlines to send faxes unless you're using something different. Please give us a call at 866-296-1660 to understand more of your situation so that we can help if we can. Thank you!

Question: If the nearest tower (or only tower) is an AT&T tower which broadcasts GSM, will this Booster work for a Sprint cell phone that uses CDMA in that area (off the AT&T tower)?

Answer: Thank you for your question! Typically, no, since CDMA and GSM are different frequencies being used. Sprint could be on the same tower, but it will not use the same frequencies that AT&T uses. I would check your area with Cellreception.com to see if you can get a better idea of where sprint towers would be in your area, or even call a Sprint store if needed to verify towers locations. If there's any other questions that need to be addressed, please give us a call at 866-294-1660 or contact our online support at: [email protected] Thank you!
