Question: I am looking to use this purely due to the nmo mount. I ordered this and the 4g-x fleet kit. That kit home with a shorter nmo antenna. Is either antenna better for voice or data?

Answer: Thank you for your question! This NMO mount is better for voice than for data. a 5.5 increase on the 800 mhz band is pretty good compared to other antennas. Please let us know if there's anything else we can assist with by calling our customer support at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected] Thank you!

Question: Is this antenna flexible, ie will it survive a tree branch hitting the narrow (whip) part of the antenna? Why is there both a 3/8" and 3/4" mount? I would think a smaller hole in the roof is always better.

Answer: Thank you for your question. The antenna will not have much flexibility on the top and is likely to break should it be hit too hard. There are two different mount sizes to help accommodate larger mounting/antenna options, although the 3/8 is standard. Question: Will this antenna increase the range and further boost the signal, more so than with the antenna that came with the cradle?

Answer: If you are pairing this antenna with the cradle, the broadcast will not go farther, as the boost only happens with the device resting in the cradle. Typically, we recommend using the 301126 (4'' magnetic antenna) that comes with most of the kits, and is better with data. If you are concerned more with voice, you could upgrade to the 311125 (12'' magnetic antenna).
