Went from dead zone to 3 bars of 4G LTE AT&T

I was a bit skeptic when I dropped around $400 on this system about a month ago, and I am glad I made the purchase. We are out in the country surrounded by trees and hills. Our initial signal was zero.. so after reading the setup guides we decided to mount the antenna to our 50 foot poll tower. We had no idea where the nearest tower was but thanks to some of the q&a post on weboost they referred us to a app called Open signal. We made all the adjustments we needed prior to turning the system on. We powered it up and about 5 to 10 seconds later we had 3 bars of 4G LTE and data download speeds up to 20mbps and uploads up to 5 mbps. We will now be updating our data plans and cancelling our satellite internet and Vonage services. With that being said I'll be saving myself over $100 a month and the weboost will have paid for itself in 4 months. In short.. do research on finding your local towers, make adjustments, take time to set it up correctly and it will work. Thank you weboost!

It worked pretty good WHEN it wanted

A relative purchased this and asked me to install at his home. There is a tower about 3 miles away but on the other side of hills. Signal outside is sketchy at best for AT&T and very low but mostly reliable for Verizon. Install was fairly simple just time consuming. But went from 1x to 4G inside with Verizon and almost no signal inside to a solid 3G inside. After reading previous reviews from users and comments from the company I am surprised it did him any good at all considering his location and outside signal strength to begin with. Only downside was it would stop working a lot and would have to be re booted. The booster would always be very warm to hot and after 8 months just stopped working all together. Just have to get something more suited to his situation.

Garbage

This thing doesn't work. If you get any service without it don't bother getting one.

Excellent product

I live in a very rural part of Arizona, surrounded by ridges. Even in the closest town reception isn't that great. Before I installed my WeBoost I had to climb a 30' hill to get even limited sporadic reception. After installing WeBoost I get very good service - generally 3 or 4 bars of Verizon LTE. Installation was simple. I used Open Signal app to find the nearest (only!) tower, then quickly was able to aim the outdoor antenna to optimize the signal. Absolutely would recommend this product.

All the Difference

I have been suffering for many years with no cell service only to drive less than a mile for LTE service. It's like we're in a dark hole at our home. DSL internet is best we have which barely reaches 2 gbps. I decided to drop the money on this system and once I 'tuned it in' correctly it works great. Make sure you spend time finding the best location. If you don't you'll feel it's useless. I spent a solid day tweaking mine. Only issue I have is I'm still not 100% sure I have the indoor antennae located in the best place but does the job. I can use my LTE cell service to stream video, ballgames and way quicker internet. I actually paid Verizon a few more bucks just to upgrade the speed. Anyway works great and would recommend but remember make sure you calibrate it to the best signal. The cell tower app isn't exactly correct at least not for me. Brad

From no bars to 3+ bars. Great product!

I always had a reasonable signal outside the house, but usually none inside. I live in the mountains, so it's hit and miss. I asked my carrier about signal boosters and they were skeptical, as was I. Decided to bite the bullet and purchase a weBoost 4G booster package at BB. Good decision. After 1 1/2 hours setting it up -- locating the best place to mount the outside antenna, running the cable through the window and connecting the booster, etc. -- I checked my new phone and Shazam! Almost full signal at some inside locations and 2+ bars elsewhere. The package sports a hefty price but I believe it's worth it. No cell signal can make you crazy. One observation: the second step in the user guide says to point the outside antenna toward the nearest cell tower, which is puzzling since the antenna isn't connected to the booster yet. That step should come after the system is activated. Just a thought. Good job, weBoost!

I was totally blown away!

We just installed this today and could not be happier! It went from -119dbm to -84 and sometimes gets down to -74. Most of the time I see its-84dbm! We only use our data from our cells for our internet. Before it was 2-3 mbps and now we're getting 18-20mbps. Now we can stream movies without the buffering! I am so impressed with the difference! We are located in the country and surrounded by trees. We installed the outside antenna on top of our house and pointed it to the closest tower. We are on T-Mobile and cannot be happier! We were going to get internet thru Comcast but figured this would pay for itself and it will! We want to get a Weboost for our 5th wheel but will have to wait until we save more money up! I'm so glad I went with Weboost instead of another company!

Question: It works similar in a flat or an duplex o triple?

Answer: Thank you for your question! This system can be installed in whatever size of a home you would like. However, it is important to keep in mind that the coverage expectation of a booster is highly dependant on the outside signal strength. The Home 4G is capable of covering up to 1,500 sq. ft. This is with a perfect outside signal. The weaker the signal, the smaller the coverage. To get a better idea of how a system will perform in your area, we recommend measuring the outside signal by taking dB readings. If you have any other questions that need to be addressed, please feel free to reach back out to us at 866-294-1660 or email us at [email protected] Thank you and have a great day!

Question: Can the cable going to the inside antnna from the booster be connected directly into an AT&T wi-fi hot spot device?

Answer: Thank you for your question! We do not recommend connecting any hot spot device directly into our weBoost signal booster. The signal coming from the booster would be too strong for the hot spot to handle. This would end up affecting the overall signal and affect the hot spots performance. It is best to keep the hot spot next to the internal antenna. Question: The Home 4G | 470101 comes with a 301211 indoor antenna. Looking to up grade my indoor antenna. You show an upgrade kit 304447 Inside Antenna. The antenna in this kit is a 50 ohm part # 311135. Is this the best antenna for this application or is there better and how much better is it than the 301211?

Answer: I would personally go with a 971165 connector to make it a F-Female connection like the outside antenna. 20 ft. of RG6 cable and then purchase a 75 ohm Panel antenna, the 311155 or 314444.

Question: Is there a maximum cable length from the outside antenna and the booster unit?

Answer: Yes, cables should not go over 100 ft. It could be less according to the available signal outside but we advise to only use what's in the kit first before doing anything extra to the cable. If you feel like there's a need, please call our customer support before purchasing an extra cable for your amplifier. If you have any other questions or concerns, please give us a call at 866-294-1660 or email us at [email protected]

Question: Does the indoor antenna broadcast the amplified signal in an omni-directional pattern?

Answer: No, the inside antenna coverage is directional. The inside antenna must be pointed towards the cellular devices where they will be used. Cellular coverage from the inside antenna will be based on the model of weBoost amplifier is used and cellular signal strength outside your home. If you have any issues or if there are any other questions or concerns, please let us know! Question: Is there a certain height the outdoor antenna needs to be at?

Answer: The most typical height is on your roof line or higher which enables better clearance and line of sight to your carrier's tower. You may need more height if your signal isn't strong enough outside which can help bring in signal to the amplifier for better coverage and output into your devices. Please let us know if there's any other questions. Our contact info for our US-based phone support is at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected]

Question: Can you hook up more than 1 indoor antenna to 1 booster? I would like to have one upstairs and one in the basement.

Answer: It's possible but not recommended with this amplifier because it's an entry level and will be cutting your coverage in half and losing signal from the splitter and extra cable that will be used. A larger amplifier may be able to but it's going to be based on your starting outside signal. We can check that with you at customer support. Question: Hi, will this boost our phone signal AND the 4G LTE WiFi signal we use through our MoFi router/gateway?

Answer: Yes! It's very possible if you have a powerful enough signal outside to allow the amplifier to boost the hotspot signal and your phones at the same time. Keep in mind that with a weak signal it will not go far from the inside antenna. This is a one-room solution at BEST with good starting signal outside. Question: We are needing to boost our home cell service and am considering the Home 4G. If I were to order an extra exterior antenna and cable, would I be able to make this work as a portable booster for camping trips? It would be used in a stationary position. Also, what distance would the antennas need to be apart to not have a problem with feedback?

Answer: It possible, but not likely. We generally recommend to have 30 ft. to 50 ft. of separation between the antennas to create enough separation to prevent feedback. Usually, the RV itself isn't enough and may need a pole to be able to raise the antenna enough so that there's enough separation. The Connect RV 65 already does this with a better amplifier and comes with a telescoping pole. You may want to look into that instead. If there's any other questions or concerns, please let us know by calling our customer support at 866-294-1660 or our online support at [email protected]
